EXETER, NH, November 16, 2015 – Vapotherm, Inc. today announced the US product release of their Q50 Compressor. The Q50 Compressor provides hospitals a cost effective, quiet and compact solution to extend the usage of Vapotherm’s Precision Flow technology. Providers can now support their patients’ high flow therapy and tracheostomy humidification requirements throughout their acute care hospital stay.
“Short term and long term acute care customers have been looking for ways to use Vapotherm’s patented technology in lower acuity care areas that have inconsistent wall air. Since none of the existing medical grade compressors met the market need, we decided to build one that did,” said Lise Halpern, Vice President of Marketing. The Q50 Compressor provides similar flow and sound level performance to existing medical grade compressors at approximately half the price, half the weight and a quarter the size.
Vapotherm initially released the Q50 on a limited scale in September. Clinician reviews have been very positive. “Although there is great demand for the product, we decided on a measured release to make sure that we could provide the world class support our customers have come to expect,” said John Coolidge, Vice President of Operations. “We have met all our internal metrics and are very pleased to make the Q50 available to all US hospitals.”
